CULTURAL PROJECTS

PALAIS DE LA CIVILISATION

Montreal, Quebec
This $10 million project included the renovation of the building envelope which involved glass and glazing, exterior wall repairs and roof replacement. The building's interior was completely renovated with emphasis on architectural details. A significant extension to the existing building was also added to accommodate new elevators, mechanical rooms and various building services.

CHÂTEAUGUAY MUNICIPAL LIBRARY

Châteauguay, Quebec
This three-storey building housing a 28,000 square feet library was part of an architectural competition in Quebec. The extremely high level of architectural detail required the integration of several noble matrerials. This green building, was designed and built according to energy saving and sustainable development standards : with its green roof, energy efficient glazing, heat pump system, geothermal heating, heat recovery unit and natural lighting. The project received the Award of Excellence in Architectural : Cultural Projects Category.

THÉÂTRE DU VIEUX-TERREBONNE

Terrebonne, Québec
Gerpro Construction was chosen as project manager for the construction of the new Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne (TVT). This $9 million building, which houses an ultramodern, 656-seat theatre hall, a bistro, administrative offices and a ticket office, blends in with Vieux-Terrebonne's heritage. In addition to its steel and concrete structure, the new TVT includes a variety of materials, ranging from shone to zinc, and from acrylic coatings to prefabricated concrete panels. Throughout the project, Gerpro was faced with very complex requirements and architectural details, which were carried out accourding to plans and specification and within the approved budget.

MUSÉE JUSTE POUR RIRE

This project presented challenges from a structural and logistics standpoint. This 80,000 sq. ft. five-storey building is located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, in Montreal.

MAISON THÉÂTRE

Montreal, Quebec
Gerpro completely renovated the CEGEP de Vieux Montreal's old theatre and built an addition to the original building. Specific challenges included the location of the facility and difficulty accessing the construction site, as well as the requirement that part of the existing structure be preserved when making alterations to the building.
